1.If you arrive by train
We have three main train stations called Keleti, Nyugati and Déli.
Most of the international trains depart to the Keleti, but some of them are still related to other railway stations. Don't you know where will you arrive? Just click here!

When you get off from your train, you will see lots of people offering taxi or accomodation. Usually these private taxies are terribly expensive, if you really need a taxi, call a registered cab from any of the phoneboxes. As for accomodation "agents" there is no word of notice except that we have no less than we truly offer you. It's your decision if you believe them or just check us, but if you join them, prepare yourself for disappointments.

From Keleti trainstation we are about 15 minutes walk.

Get off your train and turn towards the end of the platforms. Go straight ahead, walk downstairs as far as the square is. Search for the passage on the right side of the metro entrance, then walk along on it; at the end turn to the right and exit on the stairs to the left. Now you should be on the right side of Rákóczi Street, there should be Grand Hotel Hungária next to you. Stay on Rákóczi and walk towards until the next main street - where the tramlines are - and there is a square called "Blaha Lujza tér". Turn to the left (to the József krt.) and go straight ahead so you'll see a McDonalds. On the opposite (right) side of the József krt., continue your way along with the tramlines.
Keep walking two more blocks and turn to the right in the street called "Kölcsey". As a checkpoint you will find a pub at this corner. Pass through Kölcsey street, up to Gutenberg square, and straight to the street ahead. There is Bródy Sándor street, the hostel is located at #46, which is the next building behind the grey apartment house. Our entryphone number is #23, we welcome you on the first floor.

Please keep in mind that you have to use a ticket or pass to use public transportation. Tickets are available at ticket-machines, newspaper-stores and metro offices. One single-ride ticket costs 125HUF(0.5EUR). Those who don't use tickets can be fined by 1600HUF(6,2EUR).

At the exit of the train station you'll find a tram stop, choose that direction which is opposite to the overpass. On the sign you can see "Móricz Zsigmond körtér felé". Available trams are #4 or #6. You can use both to get to our hostel.
Get into the last car of the first tram from this stop, and make sure to punch your ticket. Get off at the 5th stop, which is called "Rákóczi tér". Across the crosswalk you will see the Kölcsey street. Walk along on it as far as Gutenberg square, and straight to the street ahead. 2. In case you drive a car

When you drive a car, please keep in mind you should pay for the parking almost everywhere in Budapest, on weekdays between 8am & 6pm, on Saturdays between 8am to 12am. The parking fee is different in every district, in the 8th district it's about 140 HUF/hour, but expires every two hours. If you want to come by car, there is a parking lot one block away from our place, it costs 1900HUF(7.3EUR) for 24 hrs, it is guarded, safe and closeby.
Very important! Those who don't have valid parking ticket can be fined very quickly, or in worst case you can get a wheel-shackle. On main roads the bus lanes shouldn't be used, it is reserved for buses and taxies only, and controlled by the authorities with cameras.

4. If you would come by plane

I'd recommend you three options to get to the hostel from the airport, which is taxi, the airport-minibus service or public transportation.

Present days the cost of airport-minibus is 2100HUF(8EUR)/person for one way, which is worth if you have lots of luggages and you travel alone. Otherwise an official taxi can be cheaper, as they have fixed fares from the airport, and the taxi goes to one address, while the minibus delivers several passengers. If I convinced you about the comforts of use a taxi, please read the advices below about taxies.

By public transportation we are about an hour using the airport-bus and metro from the airport.

Please keep in mind that you have to use a ticket or pass to use the public transportation. Tickets are available at yellow ticket-machines, newspaper-stores and metro offices. One single ticket costs 125HUF(0.5EUR). Those who don't use tickets can be punished by 1600HUF(6,2EUR).

Between the terminal 2 and 2A, there is a bus stop for the Airport-Bus, which is a service of the Budapest Transport Company known as BKV.
It is a public vehicle, so you should punch a ticket for using this transportation.
Tickets are available at newspaper-stores, metro stations, ticket-machines from the street and from the bus-driver in cases.

If you buy a ticket from the driver, please check if it wasn't validated before.
After getting on the bus please ensure you've punched your ticket, so you won't be fined. Ride on the bus until it lasts, then you'll be on "Kõbánya-Kispest".
Validate a new ticket again, then take a metro until "Kálvin tér" (8th stop), then turn left right after the escalator. Walk straight ahead, then choose the left exit to upstairs (Múzeum krt.). Keep walking ahead, then turn to the right after the National Museum's garden (2nd corner to right).
Now you should be on Bródy street, search for #46, which is in the 4th block on the left. Our entryphone number is #23, we welcome you on the first floor.

5. Whenever you want to take a taxi

Usually the taxies are not expensive, if I talk about the large companies. But you should definitely avoid private cabs, they are "official pickpockets", they can ask horrible amounts for few kilometers. Usually it is cheaper if you call one by phone. Every taxi should have a fare list on the rear window.

Here you can see a small description about the largest companies:

- Taxi 2000

A comfortable, trustable company what has quick service and cheap prices. Operator speaks English. Special rate from the airport is 3000HUF to anywhere in Pest side.

- Fõtaxi

The most traditional taxi company in Budapest. Operator speaks English, their special rate from the airport is 3500HUF to anywhere in Pest side.

- Budapest taxi

A brand new company, they have the cheapest price by call but if you catch one on the street, it's the most expensive. Operators speak English. No special rate from the airport, but definitely the cheapest in the city.
