Colleges of Education to build 300-bed hostel blocks in June – Kwasi Kwarteng | General news

The government, through the Ministry of Education, has completed the construction processes of 300-bed hostel blocks in the 45 colleges of education.

The project is funded by the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) and is expected to kick off across the country next month.

The PRO of the Ministry of Education, Mr. Kwasi Kwarteng, wrote on his Facebook that the project was an initiative of the government through the ministry and its agency, Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) and Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund).

As part of government education reforms, all public colleges of education have been converted/upgraded to 4-year Bachelor of Education institutions. This necessitated the expansion of the facilities to accommodate the increased number of students and also improve teaching and learning.

“The Government, through the Ministry of Education (MOE) and its agencies, the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) and the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund), has undertaken the construction of 3-storey hostel blocks with a capacity of 300 beds in 45 colleges of education across the country.”
