Man taken to hospital after jumping from hostel window

A man has been taken to hospital after jumping from a hostel window.

Emergency services were called to reports of concerns for the safety of a man in Southwood Road, Aigburth at around 6.10am this morning, Thursday March 24. At the scene, officers reported that a man had jumped out of the window of Southwood Hostel, near St Michael’s station and onto the road.

The man, in his 30s, was later taken to hospital by North West Ambulance Services. The force said the man suffered multiple injuries but it is not yet known what condition he is in.

A police cordon was put in place for a short time while emergency services dealt with the incident. The closure is now lifted.

A Merseyside Police spokesman said: “At approximately 6.10am this morning officers were called to a report of concern for the safety of a man on Southwood Road in Liverpool. It was reported that a man in his thirties jumped out of the window of a roadside hostel.

“He was taken to hospital with several injuries. There was a police scene on Southwood Road as emergency services were on the premises which have now been removed.”
