Allahabad University announces fee reductions for students affected by Covid

Allahabad University has announced that the university will not charge any academic fees to students who have lost both parents due to Covid. Additionally, the university will waive 50% of accommodation fees for the 2021-22 academic session. The decision to waive the full academic fee and 50% of the academic fee was made with the consequences of the Covid situation in mind. This concession will be applicable to all students of the university and its affiliated colleges.

However, an official statement issued in this regard indicates that this provision will not apply to students who have lost a single parent.





“As we know, Covid-19 has been spreading in the country since March 2020 and its virus has been so deadly that a number of students from Allahabad University and its constituent colleges have lost their parents,” a statement from the university said.

He further added: “Bearing in mind the pitiful plight of these students, the Honorable Vice-Chancellor has been pleased to waive the full academic fee and 50% accommodation fee for the 2021 academic session. -22 in respect of those students of Allahabad University and its constituent colleges who have lost both parents due to the CORONA virus.

Meanwhile, Allahabad University has halted online classes for undergraduate and postgraduate course students. Regular offline classes for UG students started from February 14 and for PG students from February 9. Researchers, however, were allowed to work offline as before.
